INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

THE REPORT submitted to the HRD ministry ,GOI in 2004 and distributed to all universities in huge quantity for necessary action urged upon the GOI to make up all the existing, tangible loopholes suggested.Two drafts prepared by Dr.Aparajita Baruah and B.M.Buzarbaruah had been processed by Dean N.Sanajaoba on the basis of papers and wider consultaions on the subject.An Excerpt:
"Professor Sanajaoba has urged that Indian Government should initiate the 're-negotiation process' in respect of some of the south-unfriendly and obnoxious provisions of WTO as well as TRIPS..Apart from this,Professor Sanajaoba has made the following recommendations for the effective protection of IPRs:
i.Establishment of National Commission on IPR,
ii.Constitution of IPR Vigilance cell to monitor...'
iii....Bio-piracy, special care has to be given to the entire
North Eastern Region...,
iv.MNCs have to be addressed with sufficient caution... .

###Working group of Gauhati University Manipuri Community had prepared the report[first draft by n.sanajaoba] and mobilized elitist opinion for immediate establishment of MU to cater to the need of nurturing Manipuri genius.The MU Act was passed on war footing.
